A Manager in the Planning and Development Department of the Houston Independent School District administration for Human Resources for 18 years and currently responsible for providing technological services to the Lufkin community as owner of the Computer Learning Center.
Born in Lufkin, Texas and a graduate of Dunbar High School, James Self earned a Bachelors Degree in Business from the University of Houston (Houston, TX), Master of Science in Business from Houston Baptist University (Houston, TX) and continuing education credits from Rice University (Houston, TX), and Mediation Certification from the A. A. White Dispute Resolution Center (University of Houston). His affiliations include, Christian Information Service Center (CISC), Lufkin Pro Day, International Society for Human Resource Management, Concerned Black Men of Lufkin, Inc., Houston Fire Museum (Executive Board Member), Alumni Associations (Houston Baptist University and University of Houston), and the Salvation Army.
